Job Duties
Your role as a support educator is to create structure and good conditions for a meaningful everyday life. Through your advanced expertise, you contribute to strengthening the pedagogical approach and the facility's development work. You contribute to collegial learning and collaborate with colleagues, management, relatives, and external actors such as habilitation services and daily activity programs.
You participate in practical work and contribute to a safe and stimulating environment. Everyday activities are an important part of the assignment and may include cooking, shopping, or participating in leisure activities based on the individual's interests and wishes. Through these activities, you work to strengthen independence, participation, and quality of life.
The assignment also includes documenting, observing, and following up on needs, as well as contributing to the facility's quality and improvement work. The work is based on the intentions of LSS legislation and a person-centered approach.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education comprising at least a degree from a vocational university with 200 YH points, or 60 university credits where the education or courses had a clear focus on disability services or psychiatric or social psychiatric services.
To proceed in the process, you also need experience working with children and young people. You have good knowledge of pedagogical methods and labor law, such as clear pedagogy, social stories, and AAC.
Work as a support educator further requires that you:
have experience and knowledge of low-arousal approaches
have experience with social documentation and creating implementation plans
have experience with pedagogical supervision of colleagues
have good computer skills and documentation experience
It is an advantage if you have previously been involved in implementing pedagogical methods in an organization. If you have a B-category driver's license, experience with TAKK, and experience in leadership and knowledge of protective and restrictive measures, that is also an advantage.
