The position is located at the Buildings Department, which is part of the university administration. The university administration serves as the support and service function for university leadership and core activities in research and education. The Buildings Department is responsible for everything from strategic facility planning, renovation and new construction projects, ongoing facility administration and contract management, room and exam scheduling, to work with environmental issues, physical work environment, and facilities maintenance. There are a total of 9 youth clinics in the county, and we serve young people aged 12–22 who seek help on their own. The clinics are often located in facilities connected to various health centers throughout the county but not always. At the clinics, a counselor works alongside a midwife and physician. We also have nurses and nursing assistants at some of our clinics. Together we help young people achieve good health physically, mentally, socially, and sexually. We strive to meet each young person respectfully and knowledgeably in a welcoming atmosphere. The youth clinic addresses young people directly and their specific needs. The youth clinic always works at the request of the young people themselves, and responsiveness to the young person is paramount. The Uppsala City clinic is located in pleasant, centrally located facilities in Uppsala. Your Qualifications We are looking for a counselor with several years of experience in psychosocial work with children and young people, preferably from social services and/or a youth clinic. It is an advantage if you are a licensed healthcare counselor, have basic psychotherapy training (level 1), and experience from treatment work. Sexual health expertise, such as good knowledge of LGBTQI+ issues, is of course highly advantageous when working at a youth clinic. Your Competencies As a person, you should be genuinely interested in working with young people, willing to work in interdisciplinary teams, and want to develop the operation. You are confident, communicative, and flexible in your professional role. Your ability to create contacts and collaborations with young people, parents, and other stakeholders is very important.
