The Department of Medical Sciences is a large clinical department with approximately 250 employees and over 900 people affiliated through Akademiska sjukhuset. The department has a broad research profile with strong research groups in various fields. Research takes place in close connection with clinical activities at Akademiska sjukhuset and includes both basic studies on disease causes and the development and evaluation of improved diagnostics and new treatment methods. You will be part of the Experimental Clinical Chemistry group, which works primarily with metabolomics, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) to study multiple sclerosis. They investigate disease mechanisms and the role of environmental factors in disease development and severity. Job Responsibilities Job responsibilities include pipetting, labeling of tubes, sample preparation and mass spectrometric analyses as well as associated data analysis. The position suits you if you appreciate practical laboratory work, have a structured working approach and can handle tasks requiring high concentration and precision. Qualification Requirements For employment as a Research Assistant, you must be admitted as a student at the basic or advanced level, preferably as a biomedical analyst or in a closely related field. Good experience of laboratory work and excellent pipetting skills. Very good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English, including scientific documentation. Meticulousness, independence and good teamwork skills. Desirable/Meriting Experience of work within clinic-related research projects, particularly projects involving the handling and analysis of patient data. Experience of sample preparation of serum and plasma samples. Experience of analysis with high-resolution mass spectrometry. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, particularly regarding teamwork ability, responsibility and a positive attitude in an interdisciplinary environment.
