Project Procurement Specialist
Project Procurement Specialist We are now seeking an experienced and driven project procurement specialist for our client who will take full responsibility for material supply in our NPI projects – from the early phase through handover to series production. About the Role As a project procurement specialist, you are a central part of our project teams and are responsible for primarily securing and driving material supply to our customers' projects and prototypes. You work at the interface between project management, sourcing, production engineering, production, quality – and also in dialogue with the customer on material-related issues that affect project execution. You will come in early during the industrialization phase where you can participate in contributing to supplier strategy and quotation work – although the primary focus will be to secure materials for the project's production start. The focus area will be prototypes, i.e., small series with rapid iterations and often quick changes. The role encompasses both standard materials (COTS) and customer-unique items such as PCBs, mechanical components, cabling, and other project-specific components. During the project, you manage a dynamic environment where changes in design, volumes, and conditions are a natural part. You follow up on material status, identify risks, and drive measures – both internally and together with suppliers. At the same time, you may occasionally be involved in dialogue with the customer regarding material selection, availability, and potential alternatives, with the goal of creating the best possible overall solution for the project. As the project approaches series production, you are responsible for ensuring a stable foundation – where suppliers, prices, lead times, and material flows are established. You drive a structured handover to operational procurement so that production can take over without disruptions. The role requires a structured approach, but also a high degree of flexibility and responsiveness to manage the changes that arise in the project environment. Our client is looking for someone who thrives in a changing environment, with many things happening all the time. You are offered a challenging job that makes demands on many different skills. Your Main Responsibilities Ensure material supply throughout the NPI process Responsible for sourcing (based on existing supplier strategies) and RFQ work for both COTS and customer-unique items, in prototype, pre-series, and ahead of series production Ensure price, lead times, and delivery capability in projects Identify and manage material risks and drive alternative solutions Work closely with production engineering, production, and quality in material and supplier selection Participate in dialogue with the customer on material-related issues Build a robust material structure ahead of series production Responsible for clear and high-quality handover to operational procurement Your Profile The client is looking for someone who is communicative, structured, and thrives in a role where you can combine business acumen with technical understanding and project work. You have: At least 5 years of procurement experience Experience working in projects or in close collaboration in a cross-functional environment Understanding of material flows and supplier collaboration Ability to work in a structured manner while being flexible and adaptable Strong communication skills, both internally, with suppliers, and with customers Ability to express yourself in business terms in both Swedish and English, spoken and written A technical interest and curiosity to understand products and manufacturing processes A drive to develop procurement processes, particularly during the industrialization phase Desirable Experience in project procurement within proprietary or customer-unique products Experience procuring PCBs, mechanical components, cabling, or similar components Experience working closely with suppliers during the industrialization phase What We Offer With us, you get a key role in our projects where you influence both working methods and results – from the early project phase to stable series production. You become part of an operation where collaboration, responsibility, and development are in focus. The workplace is located in Norrtälje and the position is full-time. Welcome with your application!
