Work Tasks At the Service Center, we provide service and support to students, staff, and the public. In practice, this involves a variety of tasks including information, service, sales, and support. We work through multiple channels: in-person at the desk, by phone, web, and email. A typical day can include everything from producing and issuing a new GU card to a student to answering emails from someone interested in studying at University of Gothenburg. The section also includes the central switchboard that answers and transfers calls to the entire university. Here we also ensure that all individuals are registered with the correct phone number in the directory so that everyone can reach each other. Together we make the everyday experience work for the university's students and employees. You will have your primary placement at either one of our service centers or at the switchboard, but after introduction, you are expected to be able to staff all locations and channels as needed. As a relief worker, you support children with disabilities at home and in their immediate surroundings to provide respite for family members. As a companion, you enable people with disabilities to participate in activities and errands in society, such as doctor's visits, exercise, leisure activities, and social gatherings. You are responsible for carrying out approved services with high quality and respect for the individual's integrity and self-determination. Your Expertise For the position of support assistant, a completed upper secondary education program in children and leisure with a focus on social work/pedagogical work or a care and welfare education with specialization in the disability/psychiatry area is required. You must be fluent in Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension, as a central part of the work is your ability to communicate with citizens and family members, as well as to write documentation and read information related to the work. The work requires physical mobility, as situations may arise that cannot be anticipated and must be resolved in a manner suited to the situation. A category B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement for the position. It is an advantage if you have experience working with people with disabilities and interest and experience working with children.
