Support Assistant with duties as Companion and Relief Worker

Your New Job As a support assistant in companion and relief services, you make a difference in people's everyday lives by providing individually tailored support that promotes independence, participation, and security. In this role, you work both as a relief worker and a companion. As a relief worker, you support children with disabilities at home and in their immediate surroundings to provide respite for family members. As a companion, you enable people with disabilities to participate in activities and errands in society, such as doctor's visits, exercise, leisure activities, and social gatherings. You are responsible for carrying out approved services with high quality and respect for the individual's integrity and self-determination. The role also includes documentation, work based on implementation plans, and collaboration with family members, colleagues, and other important contacts. The work is largely independent, while you are part of an engaged work team with regular meetings and close collaboration. Your Expertise For the position of support assistant, a completed upper secondary education program in children and leisure with a focus on social work/pedagogical work or a care and welfare education with specialization in the disability/psychiatry area is required. Alternatively, you have other education deemed equivalent. You must be fluent in Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension, as a central part of the work is your ability to communicate with citizens and family members, as well as to write documentation and read information related to the work. The work requires physical mobility, as situations may arise that cannot be anticipated and must be resolved in a manner suited to the situation. A category B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement for the position. It is an advantage if you have experience working with people with disabilities and interest and experience working with children. We are looking for someone who is stable, takes initiative, and is flexible in easily adapting to different tasks, target groups, and individuals' varying needs. Since the work involves working independently, this requires self-reliance and the ability to take personal responsibility, but it is equally important that you as an applicant have good teamwork skills. The service operates from a base location at Rosenlund, where you regularly meet your colleagues. The work team consists of 11 permanent employees. Work is conducted throughout Jönköping Municipality, and a car, bus pass, and e-bike are available as needed during the position. Good to Know The recruitment concerns a permanent full-time position starting by agreement. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening, weekdays as well as weekends.
