Project Manager for Railway

Job Responsibilities You lead railway projects from planning to completed facility, often in complex environments. In the role, you are responsible for creating progress, making well-founded decisions, and keeping time, cost, scope, and risks together in close collaboration with internal and external parties. As a project manager, you may work in different phases, for example planning, design, procurement, production, and handover. The role involves driving issues to decision, managing changed conditions, and creating clarity in complex project environments. Examples of measures in our portfolio: Track and switch replacements, for example on the Kimstad-Mjölby and Jönköping-Nässjö sections Electrification and overhead line upgrades, including Nässjö-Värnamo and Falköping-Nässjö Platform and station measures, for example new platform in Jönköping and platform measures in Kalmar Level crossing measures and grade separations, for example on Tjustbanan, Stångådalsbanan, and Södra stambanan You often drive several projects in parallel, but you don't do it alone. Within Trafikverket there is deep expertise to draw on, for example in railway technology, project management, procurement, economics, and law. In our unit, we help each other find the right contacts, share experiences, and solve issues that arise along the way. You get clear individual responsibility, but also colleagues who want you to succeed and develop as a project manager. Placement: Jönköping or Linköping. Qualifications To succeed in the role, you need to be structured, results-oriented, communicative, and self-directed. You create order in complex issues, drive work forward, and take responsibility for issues moving ahead. You need to be able to balance time, cost, scope, and risk, and communicate clearly with different parties. We are looking for someone who has: A university or college degree of at least 180 credits in an area relevant to the position, or equivalent competence acquired through several years of experience in an independent and leading role in railway or railway-related construction projects. Several years of current and relevant experience driving projects or independent sub-projects where the railway facility was a central part of the assignment. You have had responsibility for progress, time, cost, and scope. Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. A driver's license for a passenger car. It is advantageous if you have: Experience leading railway projects with multiple technical areas, dependencies, and stakeholders. Experience from multiple phases in railway projects, for example planning, design, procurement, production, or handover. Experience from the client side or assignments with close management, follow-up, and dialogue with the client organization. Experience with practical project management, for example risk management, scheduling, forecasting, and financial follow-up. Experience working according to XLPM or another established project management model. Experience working with contract law issues in projects, for example based on AB, ABK, or ABT.
