Job Description As a Mechanical Design Engineer at AFRY in Jönköping, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and diverse projects in mechanical development and product design. We collaborate with a broad mix of customers – from innovative startups to well-established companies in areas such as automotive, medical technology, energy, and consumer products. Your work tasks may include everything from designing and developing mechanical products and systems to performing technical analyses and simulations to ensure that solutions are both sustainable and functional. You may also participate in material selection and production methods in close dialogue with both customers and manufacturers. The work takes place in a dynamic environment where you use tools such as Catia, SolidWorks, or NX to create and develop technical solutions. As a consultant at AFRY, your projects are tailored to both our customers' needs and your own competence and ambition. We strive to create assignments where you can develop and contribute your strengths. This may involve working on in-house projects through our Customized Solutions organization or on-site at our customers' locations. Responsibilities As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will: Design and develop mechanical components and systems Work with modeling, simulation, and design in various CAD tools Collaborate with customers, colleagues, and other technical disciplines to create innovative solutions Contribute with your experience and knowledge while developing alongside the team Together with your colleagues, you help our customers develop competitive and sustainable products. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a technical background and experience in mechanical design. You hold a relevant degree or master's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering, or product development and have at least 2 years of experience working with product development and design. Experience with CAD tools such as Catia, SolidWorks, or NX is also important, as is an understanding of production methods, material selection, and manufacturing processes. As a consultant, you need to have an open and communicative approach, and you enjoy working in teams while being able to take personal responsibility for your tasks. Since we work with customers in both Sweden and internationally, it is important that you are fluent in both Swedish and English, in both spoken and written form.
