About the Role As a Systems Architect in Positioning & Navigation, you will work in early development phases with future flight systems and mission-critical functionality. The focus is on evaluating, developing, and defining future solutions for positioning and navigation in autonomous aircraft. You will be part of a growing technology area that develops concepts, technical strategies, and reference architectures for future flight systems. The work takes place close to customers, internal specialist functions, and other technology areas within the organization. The organization works with technology studies in areas such as autonomy, communication solutions, cybersecurity, and positioning and navigation. The goal is to identify future technical capabilities, translate these into requirement specifications, and then create architectures for upcoming products and systems. The department currently consists of three main technology areas: Overall systems and system level for future flight systems Communication solutions and system architecture Positioning & Navigation, where this role is placed In this role, you are expected to take technical leadership in the field and support more junior colleagues while driving studies and activities forward. You will be an important part of a larger collaborative project where multiple business areas and external stakeholders contribute expertise. While the role's focus is on positioning and navigation, there is an opportunity to contribute to other technology areas and projects when the organization's needs require it. Examples of work tasks: Drive technical studies in positioning and navigation Explore new technologies, methods, and standards Conduct stakeholder, needs, and requirements analyses Develop concepts and conduct technical decision-making and trade-off analyses Design system and reference architectures for future solutions Coordinate and gather expert knowledge from various business areas Model, simulate, demonstrate, and validate technical concepts Prepare technical reports, decision support materials, and presentations Build networks and collaborate with customers, specialist functions, and development teams Support and coach junior colleagues in the field Your Profile We are looking for someone with a strong interest in technology who thrives in the space between technology, concept development, and systems architecture. You are driven by understanding complex contexts, curious about new technology, and able to quickly grasp new areas. Since this role involves many contact points, we see you as someone who builds strong relationships, collaborates naturally with others, and enjoys sharing your knowledge. You also thrive in a changing environment where not all answers exist from the start, and you have the ability to create structure, set direction, and drive work forward toward established goals. Core Requirements: Academic degree in systems engineering, engineering physics, electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or equivalent Approximately 3-5 years or more of experience from technically qualified roles Experience with or a strong interest in positioning and navigation systems Experience with concept studies, technical investigations, or future-oriented development Fluent Swedish and English, spoken and written This assignment is classified as a security position. Prior to employment, you must undergo a security clearance and be approved according to applicable security regulations. This may require certain citizenship. Meritorious: Experience from defense industry, aerospace, automotive, or other safety-critical operations Experience with systems architecture and architecture modeling Knowledge in areas such as: Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) GNSS/GPS/Galileo Alternative positioning technologies Multi-sensor fusion Robust navigation in denied environments Radio or image-based positioning Time and frequency systems, such as atomic clocks Experience taking concepts from ideation stage to demonstrator or prototype Our Client Our client is a leading defense and security company with a mission to strengthen nations' ability to protect their populations and contribute to the safety and security of people and societies.
