The role of a nurse in ambulance services As a nurse, you work alongside an ambulance paramedic or another nurse with basic or specialist training. Together, you assess and treat patients in their homes, at accident scenes, and during transport to healthcare facilities. You also perform patient transfers between different healthcare facilities, both within and outside the region. In your daily work, you meet all types of patients, providing good and safe care based on their needs. Your work is therefore varied—no two days are alike. We offer a permanent position with a start date by agreement. The ambulance service's vision is to provide the best possible ambulance care and to be an attractive workplace with the patient at the center. Region Jönköpings Län operates 26 ambulances, including one non-emergency care ambulance and one transport ambulance, distributed across twelve stations. Ambulance services are divided into three operational areas, with the Eastern Area being one of them, with stations in Eksjö, Nässjö, Vetlanda, Sävsjö, Tranås, and Aneby. If you also have one of the following specialist qualifications, it is a merit: • Ambulance Services • Anesthesia Care • Intensive Care • Acute Care You are an experienced driver and hold at least a Class B driver's license. It is important that you have good physical fitness and work capacity, for both your sake and your patients'. As a person, you are calm and stable with a strong ability to separate the personal from the professional. It is important that you are confident in making your own decisions at work. The role also involves close teamwork, so you need good collaboration skills and the ability to communicate clearly. As you meet patients and relatives daily, it is very important that you have empathy and good interpersonal skills. Working in ambulance services also requires personal maturity and good judgment.
