Together we create value every day. Description of Duties As a librarian in Åstorp, you will collaborate with motivated and engaged educators and librarians. Your work will focus on reading promotion initiatives and language development. Your assignments include everything from media acquisitions and book talks to support for students who need compensatory measures in their reading development. You are also expected to be able to contribute to work with ICT/MIK. You will work as a school librarian at the municipality's two upper secondary schools, Björnekulla and Hyllinge. Hyllinge school library is an integrated school and public library, so you collaborate with public library staff. At Björnekulla, you also have a library assistant as a colleague, and at Hyllinge you work with the school librarian who works with grades F-6. We work based on the adopted library plan 2025-2028, and the school library plan 2025-2028, where the function and pedagogical resources of school libraries have been strengthened through distribution of responsibilities between the two governing bodies. You will, together with other school and public librarians and educators in the school, develop and shape the activities. More general librarian tasks can occasionally come your way, and we expect you to master all the librarian's tools, methods, and competencies. Work at the libraries is based on systematic quality and development work, and we expect you to see the importance of being involved in this. Work at the municipality's public library may occur, as well as evening and weekend work. Åstorp's library activities also include a bookmobile through which we primarily reach children and young people in the municipality. Qualifications You have solid knowledge of literature mediation and reading promotion, you are pedagogical and work with clear student focus. Your own drive is strong, but you enjoy collaborating with others. Your burning enthusiasm for children's and young adult literature and reading, you convey in an inspiring and enjoyable way. You are confident in the school librarian role and are open to digitalization opportunities in educational work. In your work, you are positive and engaged, and you feel comfortable communicating both verbally and in writing. Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing is required, and other language skills are meritorious. As a person, you see opportunities for change and create situations where new ideas and suggestions can develop.
