Nurse for Department 9, Internal Medicine Clinic
Your Workplace Department 9 is a geriatric internal medicine ward specializing in elderly patients. Diseases treated here include COPD, heart failure, diabetes, and infections. Many patients have a combination of multiple diseases, which we are particularly skilled at managing. We work person-centered with care that takes into account the complex care needs that arise from multimorbidity and natural aging. Patients come to us through the emergency department, other care units, or as direct admissions via mobile teams. The department works interprofessionally and team-based with and around the patient according to CGA (comprehensive geriatric assessment), which means structured care of the elderly patient. Twice a week, team-based rounds take place to establish a frailty diagnosis, which then forms the basis for treatment level, testing, and care. We have a receptionist and a discharge coordinator nurse who provide administrative support. This relieves the nurse in their work and ensures a safe and secure discharge for the patient. We are a stable nursing group with experienced colleagues where support and help are always within reach. Here you will find commitment and a good social climate among colleagues. Your Tasks As a nurse on Department 9, you lead the daily work around the patient and collaborate in the interprofessional team. Common tasks include leading care work, medication management, and round work. In your work, you have close contact with patients, as well as with family members and other people in the patient's network. You also work to guide and delegate health and care services to other professions. Because the department is a Clinical Education Unit (KUA), we have a large flow of students. This means that teaching and learning are a natural part of the work. If you are interested, there is an opportunity to pursue further education in geriatrics through an educational position. As a nurse, you are offered individual orientation. Internal training is offered for skill development in our area of practice. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the clinical development program (KUP) during your first year. Your Knowledge and Competencies We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Experience in inpatient care is an advantage but not a requirement. We are looking for a person who is initiative-taking and self-directed. You enjoy taking responsibility and driving work forward. You are flexible and can adapt to different situations, while being stable and confident in your professional role. To fit in with us, you should be able to collaborate with others and enjoy working together with colleagues to create the best possible care for our patients.
