Job Responsibilities As a class mentor, you follow a class in grades 4–6 throughout the day and share responsibility with teachers for creating safety, well-being, and a conducive learning environment. You are an active resource in the classroom and after-school program, and you also have responsibility for recess supervision and recess activities. You will have contact with guardians regarding social matters and therefore share responsibility with teachers for documentation concerning norms and values. The position also includes substituting for staff absences at the school and after-school program. Your work includes responsibility and duties in the after-school program, before and after school. Qualifications We are looking for someone with upper secondary education or other training that the employer deems equivalent. As a person, you should be positive, have a present and responsive approach to students' different needs. You foster engagement and participation, are a clear leader, and have good collaboration skills. You are also flexible, independent, responsible, and take initiative easily. Personal suitability is given significant weight. Within the framework of the national minority language legislation, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sámi, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an asset in applications for employment in Gällivare Municipality. A clearance from the police register is a requirement.
