Our Operations The Close Care Unit is part of Care Center Tierp-Älvkarleby and started 24/7 care on 1/16 2023. The unit is a 24/7 operation located in premises in the same building as Tierp's care center and emergency clinic, between Uppsala and Gävle, with good commuting options. We currently have 18 care beds with relatively short care periods and adapted admission and discharge flows. The unit primarily serves older patients with complex needs who require inpatient care but do not require the hospital's specialist resources. We also offer some day care. The operation is a good workplace to start working as a newly graduated registered nurse where you have colleagues for support. The Department of Biological Education (IBG) at Uppsala University coordinates and administers all undergraduate education within the biological sector.
