Registered Nurse Night Shift
On the infectious disease and pulmonary medicine ward, we care for patients with conditions such as pneumonia, sepsis, wound infections, endocarditis, lung cancer, and COPD. We also care for patients with compromised immune systems or patients requiring isolation due to infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. Right now the infectious disease ward is expanding and we are looking for you who want to be part of creating a new operation. Documentation is done in the journal systems TakeCare and Lifecare SP. Who Are You? We see that you are a licensed registered nurse, preferably with experience and interest in pulmonary and infectious disease care. If you have taken relevant courses in the field, that is a merit. Knowledge of various respiratory support devices such as bilevel and high-flow oxygen therapy is also a merit. Nurse/Ophthalmic Nurse
The eye care department offers basic and, to some extent, highly specialized eye care for Gotland's approximately 60,000 residents. Operations are conducted in close collaboration with other surgical and medical specialties. Continuous efforts are made to develop the department and thereby improve care for Gotland's population. We have approximately 13-14,000 visits per year where we provide outpatient care in general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and eyelid operations, as well as medical retina clinic with injection services. The department has primary on-call responsibility during daytime and standby on-call duty on weekends. Patients requiring highly specialized care are referred primarily to the eye clinics at St Eriks Eye Hospital or Uppsala Academic Hospital. We have continuously visiting consultant physicians with specialist knowledge in, among other areas, pediatric ophthalmology, corneal diseases, cataract surgery, and plastic surgery, for example for tumor, eyelid, tear duct, and strabismus operations. We have approximately 3-4 specialists per week and 1-2 resident physicians. Our team includes roles such as ophthalmic nurse, nurse, assistant nurse, optician, and orthoptist. The clinic is well-equipped with, among other things, multispot laser, YAG laser, Humphrey perimetry, and OCT. As a nurse, you will gain both broad and deep expertise within your field of competence, as Visby Hospital, the island's only acute care hospital, handles all of the island's eye patients. Your Tasks The eye care department at Visby Hospital is a small and well-functioning workplace. You will have varied tasks where there are great opportunities to develop your personal abilities. We also work very much in teams when you assist in, for example, cataract operations, laser procedures, injections, and when you perform pre-examinations before doctor visits. Based on your experience and educational background, you will perform independent measurements and various eye examinations such as visual field testing, pressure measurement, fundus photography, and vision screening. Telephone consultation is also part of your responsibilities. It is of interest that after training you can perform eye injections, which are a major part of our operations and a delegated task. We work with the TakeCare medical records system and Topcon's and Haag Streit imaging systems. Who Are You? We are looking for you who are a trained ophthalmic nurse or nurse with experience or a strong interest in working in eye care. You may also be an operating room nurse with an interest in ophthalmology who would like to perform some tasks outside the operating room. As a general nurse, experience from outpatient care is meriting. We consider it essential that you have the ability and willingness to contribute to developing the department and that you gladly contribute new ideas. In your contact with patients, you are trustworthy and empathetic.
