About Us The Department of Children and Education's operations span the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school grades F-9, secondary school, adapted primary and secondary school, after-school programs, central administration, facilities management, and mother tongue instruction. Solna has ten municipal primary schools and one municipal adapted primary school, each led by a principal and their assistant principal. Parkskolan is a small primary school for students from preschool class through grade 3. The school is located in a green oasis in Hagalund with proximity to Solna city center and public transportation. Here, dedicated and knowledgeable teachers and after-school staff support and challenge students in their learning. What Does the Role Involve? We're looking for someone who can lead the after-school program and develop the activities both short and long term. The role includes taking overall responsibility for the after-school program and planning, implementing, following up on, and developing creative, varied, and meaningful instruction. You will have a team-leading role for the after-school program with responsibility for directing and coordinating work across four departments. You'll collaborate with other after-school teachers, educators, teachers, the leadership team, and be part of school instruction where you'll work with values and the school's democracy mission. We work in grade-level teams and apply differentiated instruction. The teams develop and enhance activities to create a strong foundation for student development. School development in Solna encompasses language-development approaches, values, and creating an accessible learning environment. Staff working in after-school programs in Solna are also part of a central network with regular meetings where they participate in training, lectures, and collaborative discussions. Who Are We Looking For? We're looking for someone who: - is a certified after-school program teacher - has experience working in after-school programs with students ages 6-9 - has experience with development work in after-school programs or similar - is well versed in all parts of the curriculum and other relevant governing documents - is skilled with digital tools that you use creatively in instruction as well as for your own planning, follow-up, and documentation - has strong Swedish language skills, both spoken and written You're well familiar with and uphold the professional ethical principles for teachers and have the ability to promote democratic values, believing all students are equally worthy. We're looking for an engaged and proactive person who sees possibilities and takes responsibility for developing the activities. Through your strong collaboration skills, you build positive relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and actively contribute to an open and inclusive work environment. You have natural leadership and through an attentive and professional approach, you inspire students to participate and learn both during the school day and in the after-school program's activities.
