The Department of Technical Services is Trelleborg Municipality's enabling authority. The Department's five divisions have overall responsibility within different areas to plan, manage and develop the public space. We do this for example by taking care of the municipality's public places, waste management and sewage management, water supply and infrastructure. We also deliver internal services such as operation and maintenance of the municipality's facilities, facility cleaning, systems management and IT support. The Workplace Within the Department of Technical Services there is the Circular Economy and Water division which consists of approximately 80 employees distributed across four units. Together we work to ensure that the municipality's water and sewage operations function, so that our customers get good drinking water and that sewage water is purified before it reaches the recipient. Our division is also responsible for the municipality's waste collection and operates two recycling centers of our own. The Water Production Unit consists of three sections, and this position is placed within the water production section. We are now looking for an operations technician for our drinking water production team in the Circular Economy and Water division in Trelleborg. Right now a major initiative is underway in Trelleborg Municipality where we are strengthening our future drinking water supply and among other things we are building a completely new water treatment plant. The project is in full progress and is expected to be operational in 2028. Do you want to be part of the journey? Job Responsibilities In the role of operations technician with us you work with operation and maintenance of our production and distribution facilities such as water treatment plants, pressure boosting stations, groundwater wells and reservoirs. In collaboration with four experienced operations technicians and a process engineer you plan and perform operation and maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, sampling, documentation, quality controls and ensure good food hygiene. In your work you will perform sampling of drinking water from customers out in our distribution network and in our facilities. You participate in maintenance planning and perform maintenance and repair work. You will have significant involvement in our various projects concerning modernization and new construction. Our new water treatment plant is being built right now and we will soon begin training ourselves in the new production process where you get to be involved from the start. As an operations technician you actively contribute to developing and updating risk analyses, self-inspections, operating logs, operating manuals and various lists of chemicals and the like. On-call duty is part of the position. Qualifications Secondary education and professional experience in operation and maintenance within water supply and sewage, and if you have knowledge in control and regulation technology for process and manufacturing industry, food production or similar is a merit. It is desirable that you have previously worked in Scada systems as this is our daily tool. The position also requires at least a category B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle. You take responsibility for your tasks and can structure your workday well on your own. We are looking for you who are good at collaborating with others where you listen, communicate and contribute to a positive work environment. Since the work tasks vary we believe that you are used to working practically with technical solutions and are stimulated by analytical problem solving in front of process data screens. Since the position involves communication both orally and in writing it is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
