Building Conservationist

You will be part of the unit for spatial planning and cultural environment. Together we are responsible for coordinating state interests, national interests and public interests according to the Environmental Code, the Planning and Building Act and the Cultural Heritage Act, supervision within the planning and building sector, consultations and review of decisions on municipal overview and detailed plans, as well as state support and grants within the housing and energy sectors and for the care of cultural environments. The tasks also include working to ensure that our cultural heritage and cultural environments are cared for, preserved and developed. About the job The role as a building conservationist suits you if you have expertise in the field of building conservation and want to build up your experience. You will work together with our three building conservationists. Examples of work tasks include handling matters within the building conservation field (grants for the care of cultural environments, decisions on permits concerning listed buildings and ecclesiastical cultural monuments as well as supervision according to the Cultural Heritage Act), responding to internal consultations in permit matters according to the Environmental Code, Planning and Building Act and more, registration of incoming documents with other administrative tasks, providing advice and guidance to applicants within your area of responsibility. The tasks can be adapted to your background and competence. The work is in constant development and based on our mission, work tasks may change over time. You therefore need to be able to handle change. At the same time, it gives you opportunities to develop and both broaden and deepen your competence with us. About you We are looking for you who have: an academic bachelor's or master's degree in building conservation studies or alternatively other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent experience of similar work tasks within the cultural environment field good knowledge of cultural heritage legislation good ability to communicate and provide information in a simple and understandable way both in writing and orally in Swedish a driver's license for a passenger car As a person you are responsible, structured and flexible. You have the ability to prioritize, stick to set deadlines and bring to completion what you have started. You are good at collaborating and communicating with others, and can also work independently with assigned tasks. The work includes cooperation with external parties and you are good at engaging in dialogue and cooperating with others. Antiquarian with Focus on Cultural History

We are looking for you, our new antiquarian with a focus on cultural history who wants to contribute to our shared mission of promoting and building knowledge about the region's cultural environments. About Us Stockholm County Museum is part of the Strategic Coordination Department within the Cultural Administration in Region Stockholm. The Cultural Administration, working on behalf of the Culture Committee, implements Region Stockholm's cultural policy and is responsible for initiatives in the cultural sector. The Strategic Coordination Department is responsible for the Culture Committee's grants to cultural and civic organizations as well as to actors in public education. The department also includes regional cultural functions that work to promote libraries, circus, dance, crafts, film, music, cultural heritage, and public art in the municipalities, with a focus on children and young people. Stockholm County Museum is a digital museum with the task of coordinating scientific collection, processing, and dissemination of knowledge about the region's cultural environment, cultural heritage, and public art. We conduct promotional work directed at all municipalities in the region, heritage preservation movements, and civil society regarding cultural environment, cultural heritage, museum, and public art matters. Stockholm County Museum is a unit consisting of 15 employees with expertise in various fields. We are responsible for promoting and building knowledge about the region's cultural environments through digital productions, pedagogy and teacher training, advisory services to municipalities, and dialogue with civil society, as well as photo collection and collection management. About the Position As an antiquarian, you will be part of the county museum's knowledge-building activities, compiling and disseminating knowledge through various channels. You will write texts for websites, social media, reports, and knowledge materials. You will also work together with other experts at the county museum to develop materials in text, image, and film for the museum's digital exhibitions. In our cultural environment work, we provide support to municipalities and heritage preservation movements. We assist municipalities in their development work to utilize cultural environments as a resource as the region's population grows. In your role as an antiquarian, you will contribute to developing the county museum's role as a promoting expert function. This happens through dialogue with the region's antiquarians, cultural coordinators, and cultural environment officers at regional and municipal levels. Other important partners include the County Administrative Board, national agencies, universities, and other museums. Your work may involve organizing network meetings, collaboration meetings, training sessions, conferences, webinars, and similar activities. Who Are You? We are looking for someone with a university degree with expertise primarily focused on historical periods from the Middle Ages to today. You have specialized knowledge in history, and related expertise is a merit, such as archaeology and historical cultural geography, preferably a combination of subject areas. You have experience compiling and disseminating knowledge from work in museums, cultural environment consulting, or government agencies. You have experience working with various knowledge materials and sources such as research results, archival materials, maps, etc., related to historical sites and cultural landscapes. You have a strong commitment to public science and appreciate sharing knowledge and simplifying complex matters for a broad audience. You enjoy dialogue with the region's residents in various types of projects. Further, you have experience in project management and in creating and maintaining networks, as well as extensive experience in written and oral presentations. It is a merit if you have experience working in a politically governed organization. You have very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing. It is a merit if you have experience publishing on the web or in various digital channels. You are an engaged and positive person with the ability to work independently but who also enjoys being part of a team. You have good collaboration skills and an unpretentious approach. You are accustomed to planning your work so that you meet deadlines and can complete projects with high quality. You enjoy working in an environment characterized by high competence and focus on delivery, and you adapt easily to changing circumstances. You are social and enjoy speaking to large groups.
