As a maintenance engineer, you will work directly under our technical manager, in close collaboration with both designers and the maintenance operations team. The role focuses on analysis, development, and optimization of maintenance strategies as well as providing technical support to maintenance operations. To succeed in this role, you should therefore be a team player with a strong ability to collaborate with different functions within the organization. The position involves some travel, including to our maintenance locations Pitkäjärvi and Aitik. We offer a central role where you contribute to optimizing the service life of wagons and components within our maintenance agreements. The job also includes ensuring proper documentation, traceability, and structure in the maintenance system as well as monitoring and managing spare parts inventory levels linked to maintenance agreements. Your responsibilities will include Data collection and analysis of wheel damage and wheel wear Analysis of operational data, damage, wear, and relevant key metrics Development and monitoring of maintenance plans for wagons and components Investigation and handling of technical deviations related to maintenance assignments Driving improvement measures together with designers and project managers Planning and execution of smaller maintenance projects Ensuring documentation, traceability, and structure in maintenance systems Monitoring and managing spare parts inventory linked to maintenance agreements Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Documented technical work experience or post-secondary education in engineering, maintenance, or equivalent Good analytical skills and interest in technical problem-solving Ability to work independently and drive issues forward Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written Class B driver's license Meritorious Experience from the rail sector is an advantage, as is knowledge of: EN 1090/ISO 3834 and EN 15085 Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM) Lean as a working method Our Offer Kiruna Wagon is a global brand that develops, manufactures, and maintains wagons for rail freight transport. JOB DUTIES As a process operator at the heating plant, you will deliver district heating to the company's customers. We also deliver waste heat from LKAB. You will work alongside a colleague as shifts are double-staffed, utilizing what's known as a five-shift system. The role includes optimizing our production facilities, starting and stopping boilers, the turbine and auxiliary systems, as well as supervision including rounds, corrective and preventive maintenance. Since Kiruna Kraft is undergoing a major transition that will phase out waste incineration and replace it primarily with waste heat, the position will eventually involve daytime work with varied tasks. These will include maintenance and leak detection on the network during summer and increasingly throughout the year. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who enjoys collaboration and has good communication skills. You should be a problem-solver capable of handling tasks that arise, which means you can work independently and take initiative.
