About the Position Scouterna and the City of Västerås intend to establish a long-term collaboration through an idea-driven public partnership (IOP) with the goal of strengthening children's and young people's opportunities for meaningful leisure time. Together, we want to increase the proportion of children and young people who participate in organized leisure activities, with particular focus on the western districts of Västerås where the need is greatest. Through this project, we develop new working methods and activities that contribute to increased community, safety, and hope for the future. The work is based on the scout method, where learning by doing, participation, and community are central. The initiatives include both recurring leisure activities, camp activities, and development of new forms of activities that reach more children and young people over time. This can, for example, include day scout camps, family outings, and evening activities.
