The Culture and Recreation Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six administrations. With approximately 240 employees, we create opportunities for the municipality's visitors and residents to experience and participate in a diverse leisure and cultural life. We conduct activities in-house and provide support to cultural and leisure activities run by non-profit associations, study organizations, and other actors. The administration includes libraries, swimming facilities, cultural school, youth centers, and other cultural and leisure activities.
The libraries in Mjölby are a dynamic workplace with 15 engaged and creative employees. Our library facilities are meeting places where everyone is welcome for cultural experiences and knowledge acquisition. Operations are located in Mjölby, Skänninge, Mantorp, and Väderstad. We work proactively outside the library setting and collaborate with various actors in diverse contexts; the libraries also offer library services to the correctional system, technical assistance, and participate in various events, such as Pride. The libraries in Mjölby are part of the Göta collaboration with a shared library card and library system. Together with other municipalities, we collaborate to provide equal access to services for all.

RESPONSIBILITIES
This role suits you if you want to contribute knowledge, curiosity, and energy, with a special focus on fiction, and want to help develop the library's activities with us.
Your task is to create reading enthusiasm, inspire independent knowledge seeking, and provide people of all ages with the tools needed to find information, knowledge, and experiences on their own terms. In this role, you are also responsible for the library's work with multilingual and national minority languages at the main library in Mjölby as well as the branches in Mantorp and Skänninge. The position also includes environmental monitoring within relevant areas of responsibility and collaboration with various actors within Mjölby Municipality, with a special focus on adult education and society introduction for newcomers, as well as with our partners within the Göta libraries.
The role also includes:
• working together to drive reading promotion programs and activities
• staffing the information desk and providing good service to visitors
• providing support in information searching and guiding users in the library's resources
• promoting digital literacy through instruction and support
• planning, implementing, and contributing to the development of activities
• conducting systematic cataloging and circulation work

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
• a bachelor's or master's degree in library and information science, or other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent
• digital literacy
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
We are looking for someone who finds reading promotion methods, pedagogy, and language as an important and large part of your work. We see that your interest in a multicultural society is high. You have good communication and pedagogical skills and enjoy meeting children, young people, and adults.
