Laboratory Medicine Västerbotten comprises approximately 520 employees and includes clinical pathology, clinical microbiology, infection control, clinical genetics, clinical immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, biobank and tissue facility. Through an agreement, we have overall responsibility for clinical pathology in Östersund, including medical leadership responsibility for immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry and clinical microbiology. At the clinical pathology laboratories, approximately 120 people work in Umeå and approximately 15 people in Östersund.
