Laboratory Medicine Västerbotten comprises approximately 520 employees and includes clinical pathology, clinical microbiology, infection control, clinical genetics, clinical immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, biobank and tissue facility. Through an agreement, we have overall responsibility for clinical pathology in Östersund, including medical leadership responsibility for immunology and transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry and clinical microbiology. Operations are accredited and we work according to the quality system based on this. At the clinical pathology laboratories, approximately 120 people work in Umeå and approximately 15 people in Östersund. As a manager in Region Västerbotten, you have an important mission for both employees and residents of the region. DUTIES As department head with us, you see the whole picture and potential and take us boldly forward. You act as a role model, work to create shared visions and release initiative in your operations. You challenge and question as well as encourage and highlight your employees. You take responsibility for your operations within your authority and represent the employer by leading and developing toward decided goals for the Region's benefit. As department head, you are directly subordinate to the deputy operational manager in the line organization and work in close cooperation with the medical director, subordinate deputy department heads and other key personnel. In your role as department head, you are responsible for planning, organization, personnel, development of production/operations, work environment, environment and budget. Together with the medical director, you are responsible for establishing an annual activity plan based on Laboratory Medicine's operational plan and ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with it. Together with other department heads and other key personnel, you also work on cross-cutting issues within Laboratory Medicine.
