The Disability Care Services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that unlocks and strengthens people's ability to live independent lives through proximity and collaboration. Ordinary housing is organized within the Disability Care Services, which includes short-term supervision, short-term accommodation, respite services, home care, and a National Upper Secondary School for children and youth. We offer daily activities/occupational programs, residential support, and dependency resource teams for adults over 18 years old. Daily activities should contribute to meaningful occupational engagement, personal development, and promote participation in society based on the participant's needs and circumstances. The overarching goal of daily activities is to develop the individual's independence, build participation, create a sense of coherence, and create opportunities for work. Nejdens Daily Activities is a group-based program with a focus on natural movement, recycling, and the environment. The activities include both indoor and outdoor components. Participants work together with a strong emphasis on collaboration and practice in social contexts. We collaborate with commissioners, family members, and other external partners. We are now seeking a Support Assistant who wants to make a difference! Your Responsibilities As a Support Assistant, you will plan, lead, structure, and develop activities and tasks based on each participant's individual needs. Your work aims to create meaningful occupational engagement and provide conditions for increased independence among participants. You will be part of a team that together is responsible for planning activities and designing individual schedules for participants. The role also includes documentation, such as record-keeping and the creation and monitoring of implementation plans. Work hours are scheduled during daytime, but evening and weekend work may occur. Coordination meetings take place between our facilities. About You You are someone who has the ability to create structure, plan, and motivate individuals in their daily lives and development. To thrive in this role, you need to be comfortable with both independent work and teamwork. You are professional in your interactions, collaborative, and have basic computer skills. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You are also flexible, create continuity, and contribute to a sense of security. You work with a low-affect approach and use clarifying pedagogy to strengthen communication and interactions. We place high demands on your ability to interact with the target group in a professional manner and to establish and maintain agreed-upon structure in the activities. Requirements Education as a social worker, childcare worker, or other behavior-oriented education that the employer deems equivalent Knowledge and experience working with people with autism and intellectual disabilities Experience working in disability care services Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written Basic computer skills Class B driver's license Meritorious Experience with low-affect interaction Experience with clarifying pedagogy Experience working with challenging behaviors Experience working in daily activities programs Knowledge and experience with TAKK Knowledge and experience with MI Knowledge and experience with Supported Employment Other Information Before a job offer is made, we ask you to provide an extract from the police criminal record register.
