As a product safety engineer, you will specify requirements and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of different design concepts and constructions in order to ensure that our customers receive a safe product. You work according to our systems safety process, which aims to create safe vehicle systems for both our own personnel and end users. Our main products are medium-weight combat vehicles (CV90) and armored terrain vehicles (BvS10). You are responsible for Planning and driving product safety work forward in projects. The work includes collaboration with many different functions such as product developers, designers, test personnel and service personnel. You also have contact with customers, end users and authorities regarding matters relating to product safety and legislation. Your work tasks include: Representing product safety in a development project's management organization and guiding project resources. Performing consequence and probability analyses of safety risks and formulating requirements for design solutions. Identifying and analyzing risks in complex technical systems and translating the results into concrete requirements for design and construction. Documenting and presenting analyses regarding product safety, incidents and accident investigations. Being leading and advisory on product safety matters during project meetings and project follow-ups. Performing reviews and audits regarding functional safety. The position includes travel, both within and outside Sweden. Who you are To succeed in the role, you need to have a great interest in technology to be able to understand the overall risk picture of our products. Since the position is interdisciplinary, it is good if you have practical experience with design and/or system work within electrical, electronics, software, mechanics or hydraulics. Relevant educational background is a civil or technical engineer. Alternatively, you have gained your knowledge through extensive practical work. Experience with Mil-std-882, ISO26262, IEC61508 or ISO13849 is a merit. If you have not worked with product safety before, we will offer training and mentor support.
