We are a ward specializing in orthopedics, upper and lower gastroenterology, urology, and palliative/oncological care. We also provide surgical/orthopedic day care and preoperative services, offering great variety in work tasks and a broad knowledge base. We care for patients aged 15 and up and have 26 care beds. Our ward is supported by a competent and experienced team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, specialist nurses, and physicians. We are also a ULVE ward, meaning we welcome nursing students during their clinical training. Work is team-based, with each team consisting of one nurse and one to two nursing assistants. WORK TASKS As a nursing assistant with us, you participate in patient-centered care work together in a team with a nurse. You work collaboratively with the nurse and other colleagues on our ward. You will have stimulating and varied work, giving you broad experience across all types of tasks within our different specialties. You work in pairs with a nurse and share responsibility for patient care. Your work tasks include: • Pre- and postoperative patient management • Medication handling • Sample collection • Documentation in Cosmic • Care planning and family contact • Collaboration with physicians and participation in rounds • In advanced phases, you lead and develop care work within the team. You encounter patients in acute and elective orthopedics, surgery, urology, and palliative care—a complex and educational patient group.
