Unit Manager for Cable Technical Leadership

About the Position As manager of cable technical leadership, you are responsible for leading and developing the unit to achieve established goals and results through active leadership and business development. The unit is part of the Grid Technology department, which works on technical design, requirements, and development of Svenska kraftnät's power cables and overhead lines. The unit is responsible for technical design, installation, and further development of cable systems and cable monitoring systems in the transmission network (230 kV and above), as well as the systems properties of cables. The work includes delivering technical expertise to both project operations and facility management. An important part of your mission is also to lead and develop our offshore operations. This is conducted cross-functionally in collaboration with other parts of the organization and includes developing processes, work methods, and governing documents, as well as identifying the unit's needs in the offshore area. The unit currently consists of seven employees and four consultants and is part of a section with broad specialist expertise in cable technology, installation, and offshore technology. In this role, you are responsible for: • Leading, coaching, and creating good conditions for senior engineers and the team as a whole • Ensuring efficient resource management and following up with consultants on ongoing assignments • Driving strategic work such as goal management, planning, follow-up, and technology development • Building and developing relationships with industry stakeholders and external stakeholders • Strengthening collaboration and a holistic perspective through cross-functional work, including close dialogue with interfaces such as Cable Project Management You will have a central role in shaping and developing a rapidly growing business, where you build a successful organization and culture characterized by collaboration, responsibility, and courage. The assignment includes leading some of Sweden's most advanced cable projects, from offshore installations to complex solutions in urban environments, as well as participating in international collaborations on standardization and technology development. As a night shift worker, you are responsible for the young people's wellbeing and safety, with a primary focus on promoting healthy sleep routines and being there for them when needed. Night is often the most difficult time of day for many, and sleep problems are very common among our youth, making a caring adult who can offer support through conversation or other means a crucial piece of the puzzle. The work can vary greatly in intensity, from very quiet nights to nights that demand much from you as a treatment pedagogue. You always work awake night shifts with us on schedules between 21:00-08:00 on weekdays and 20:45-08:15 on weekends. You work according to a rotating schedule in a team with several other treatment assistants and pedagogues. The current schedule is under review and may change in the future.
