The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Hässleholm is a secure facility with four treatment units, two intake and needs assessment units (MBB), and an open TFCO unit. We primarily admit school-age boys, but also girls, who are engaged in criminal activity and in some cases have substance abuse issues. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformation for vulnerable people? Then working as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. You work in a team with trained treatment pedagogues and operational leaders, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You help maintain security according to our procedures and contribute to continuously improving SiS. Our operations run 24/7. As a night shift worker, you are responsible for the young people's wellbeing and safety, with a primary focus on promoting healthy sleep routines and being there for them when needed. Night is often the most difficult time of day for many, and sleep problems are very common among our youth, making a caring adult who can offer support through conversation or other means a crucial piece of the puzzle. The work can vary greatly in intensity, from very quiet nights to nights that demand much from you as a treatment pedagogue. You always work awake night shifts with us on schedules between 21:00-08:00 on weekdays and 20:45-08:15 on weekends. You work according to a rotating schedule in a team with several other treatment assistants and pedagogues. The current schedule is under review and may change in the future. As night staff, your employment is at 78.01%. This is work for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. The role may also include mentoring new staff members. Qualifications To succeed in this position, you have a firmly grounded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable situations and share SiS's values of being a place for change. You have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are confident and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You collaborate well with others and handle conflicts constructively. You must also have: A diploma from a 2-year post-secondary program at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or equivalent higher education qualification The vocational training must be CSN-eligible to be approved for employment B-class driver's license Good Swedish language skills, spoken and written Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, such as youth care, psychiatry, or LSS care Experience with night shift work As a new employee, there is a mandatory introductory week before you begin working on the unit.
