Unit Manager LSS

There's something special about Avesta! Here you'll find not just Dala horses and roaring rapids. Here you'll also find determination and courage, drive and faith in the future. It's the power of our people that makes Avesta unique. Together we build Avesta's future – do you want to be part of it? The Care Management operates according to the principle that all people we meet have equal value and are unique. Within the management, we have IFO, LSS activities, social psychiatry, health and medical care, home care services, and special accommodations. Here, approximately 900 employees work around the clock for our target groups. 1 position(s). Would you like to lead an operation where your work makes a concrete difference in people's everyday lives? Do you have a genuine interest in the disability services field and want to develop as a leader? Then this could be the position for you. We are now seeking a unit manager for our LSS operations. You will be part of a management group of six unit managers who work closely together in an environment where openness, collaboration, and collegial support are important parts of daily life. The position focuses on implementation for children and young people within LSS, while the area of responsibility covers activities for children, young people, and adults. The role includes short-term stays and leisure activities, group housing, and personal assistance. You will have personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility for approximately 30–35 employees. Duties As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for the quality, results, and development of the operation. You ensure that the operation is conducted with high quality and in accordance with applicable legislation, decided interventions, and the goals and frameworks that apply to the operation. Our mission is to provide individually adapted support in daily life and create conditions for structure, meaningful activities, participation, and development. For operations targeting children and young people, this means you need to understand their special needs and circumstances. You lead and distribute work and, together with your employees, create the conditions for high-quality operations. Your personnel responsibilities include salary setting, employee conversations, rehabilitation, recruitment, and systematic work environment management. As a manager, you clarify goals, procedures, and expectations and follow up on the operation's results. You coach and guide employees and provide support when the operation faces complex situations and user matters. Economic planning and follow-up are a natural part of the assignment. You work with goals and results in focus and have the ability to see the connections between quality, resources, and work environment. Digitalization and welfare technology create new opportunities in the disability services field, and we would welcome your curiosity about how these can contribute to increased quality, participation, and independence. Documentation and work in various operational systems are also part of the position. To support your management role, there are unit administrators, management economists, recruiters, and HR consultants connected to the care management. Qualifications We are looking for someone with relevant university education with a bachelor's degree, such as a social work degree or a behavioral science degree with a focus on sociology, social work, psychology, or education. You have basic knowledge of social law and LSS legislation. If your education does not include at least 7.5 university credits in social law, you need to be prepared to supplement with corresponding education parallel to your work. You also need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. For us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in the disability services field and in making a difference in people's lives. Since parts of the area of responsibility focus on children and young people, you also need to have knowledge of or a clear and genuine interest in the disability services field from a child and youth perspective. Experience from LSS operations, either through direct contact with users or in a supervisory role, is a merit. Knowledge and experience in work environment and labor law are desirable, but we also place great value on your interest and willingness to develop your competence in these areas. You don't need extensive management experience to be interesting to us. We are open to candidates who are earlier in their leadership career but who have the right conditions, motivation, and development potential to grow into a confident and skilled leader. Who are you? To succeed in the role, you need to be confident and stable and able to distinguish between the personal and the professional. You adapt your approach based on the situation and maintain direction and judgment even when questions are complex. You are self-directed and take responsibility for structuring and driving your work forward. At the same time, you see the value of collaboration. Within LSS, our unit managers work closely together, and we are therefore looking for someone who can both stand firmly in their own assignment and contribute to the group's common work. As a leader, you create engagement and participation. You are clear about goals, expectations, and responsibility and ensure that what has been decided is followed up. Your leadership is coaching and developmental, and you have the ability to motivate others and create conditions for active employee engagement. You are development-oriented, curious about new ideas and ways of working, and have the ability to implement new thinking in practice to continuously improve the operation that we exist to serve. For the candidate offered the position, an extract from the suspicion and burden register will be requested and checked in accordance with applicable legislation. A driver's license is a requirement for the position, as the work involves travel between our various operations. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Start date: Start according to agreement.
