Postdoctoral Fellow in Political Science

The research project "The importance of social and biological inheritance for people's life chances: New approaches at the intersection of social science and genetics" is funded by a four-year infrastructure grant from the Swedish Research Council. The project aims to increase knowledge about how the complex interplay between genes and environment shapes people's health and their position in the social and economic hierarchy. More specifically, we utilize the rapidly growing availability of large-scale genotype data in Europe, combined with detailed register data and survey data from multiple countries, to investigate how specific genetic factors co-vary and interact with social, political, and economic conditions. The goal is to better understand how these factors together contribute to variation in outcomes such as health, education, income, political participation, social trust, and other behaviors. The project aims to further develop a leading interdisciplinary research environment at the forefront of the social science genomics research field.
