Experienced Procurement Specialist for Global Life Science Company in Uppsala!

We are now seeking an experienced consultant in strategic procurement and sourcing for an exciting assignment with an international operation in a regulated industry. You will be part of a global sourcing team consisting of colleagues in Europe and the USA. The team is responsible for strategic and operational procurement work, where you will have full ownership of assigned categories and suppliers. In the role, you are responsible for: Developing and implementing sourcing strategies Managing the entire procurement process (RFQ, negotiation, contracting, and execution) Driving cost reduction and achieving set KPIs Optimizing supplier performance and driving continuous improvements Conducting cost and process analyses Identifying, qualifying, and onboarding suppliers Building long-term supplier relationships and partnerships Ensuring compliance with regulations and agreements Handling delivery and quality-related escalations Monitoring market and regulatory trends Start: September 2026 - December 30, 2026 (with possibility of extension) Scope: Full-time, on-site in Uppsala Employment Type: Consultant via StudentConsulting WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, packaging engineering, or another technical discipline OR Bachelor's degree + at least 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing/direct procurement OR at least 9 years of experience in sourcing/procurement without a technical degree Several years of experience in direct procurement, strategic sourcing, GMP, regulated chemical markets, regulatory requirements, and sourcing best practices Experience from Life Science, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry is meriting Very strong negotiation and analytical skills as well as experience in developing supplier relationships Ability to create engagement and build relationships at all levels in the organization Documented ability to deliver results Experience implementing regulatory compliance in supply chains and working with supplier agreements Strong business and financial understanding as well as ability to lead, influence, and drive change globally High analytical level and experience driving global procurements Willingness to travel, both nationally and internationally Fluent English, both spoken and written Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement analysis tools Very good skills in Excel and PowerPoint Meriting Master's degree in management or engineering (MBA, MSc, MTech) Certifications in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, PMP) Swedish, spoken and written Green Belt certification Personal Qualities Self-driven and ability to work both independently and in teams Excellent skills in negotiation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration Candidates should be presented with CV and candidate profile in English.
