Innovation Unit Region Uppsala's Management Office is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. Our Operations Region Uppsala is seeking a project manager in innovation for the Innovation Unit, which is part of the Planning and Development Department. You will report directly to the Director of Research and Innovation. The Innovation Unit works to strengthen Region Uppsala's innovation capacity and contribute to the development, testing, and dissemination of new ideas, work methods, products, and services. Your Assignment As an innovation project manager, you will, among other things, support operations in identifying needs, formulating project ideas, and developing solutions. You will contribute to ensuring that innovation projects are planned, executed, monitored, and evaluated in a structured manner and create conditions for testing and implementing new work methods, services, products, and processes. Furthermore, you will coordinate contacts between operations, researchers, companies, academia, patients, residents, and other relevant stakeholders. You will plan and conduct training, workshops, and other knowledge-building initiatives in innovation management and renewal, as well as provide methodological support to managers and employees in innovation processes and development work. Your Qualifications We are seeking someone who has: • relevant academic education in, for example, healthcare, technology, social sciences, economics, behavioral sciences, design, innovation, operations development, or another area that the employer deems relevant • experience in project management, operations development, or change management • experience with innovation work in healthcare, dentistry, life sciences, the public sector, or other knowledge-intensive operations • excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish You preferably have experience with: • work with test environments, pilot projects, needs analysis, service design, or user involvement • collaboration between public operations, academia, business, and civil society • monitoring, evaluation, and dissemination of development initiatives • supporting managers and operations in early and uncertain development processes • work at the intersection of research, innovation, digitalization, operations development, and clinical practice Your Competencies To succeed in this role, you need to be structured and collaboration-oriented. You have the ability to create direction in matters where the target picture, solution, and implementation are not always predetermined from the start. You are comfortable leading processes with multiple perspectives and can build trust with managers, employees, researchers, companies, and external partners. You have strong communication skills and can translate complex issues into understandable decisions, activities, and next steps. We particularly value that you are curious, analytical, flexible, and solution-oriented, with a good understanding that innovation in public operations needs to combine new thinking with responsibility, patient safety, benefit, feasibility, and long-term sustainability.
