Project Description The project aims to develop models to describe how HVDC installations affect and are affected by power quality in the electricity grid up to 150 kHz. Measurements will be used to further develop existing models and distinguish between primary and secondary emissions as well as non-linear interactions. The results will form the basis for a general model for emissions and immunity related to HVDC installations. The study also includes resonances, interaction between multiple installations and effects on transformers and other grid-connected equipment. The project is conducted in collaboration between LTU and Hitachi Energy. Duties A PhD student position involves both theoretical and practical work. As an operator on a vacuum truck, you always work in pairs, which means close collaboration with a colleague. Work with vacuum trucks requires good physical fitness.
