The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individualized compulsory care for adolescents with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create vital change. SiS youth home Brättegården is located just outside Vänersborg. We receive non-compulsory schoolage girls with psychosocial problems, mental health issues, criminality, and substance abuse. Job Description We are looking for a unit manager for our specially reinforced unit (SFA). With us, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and dedicated colleagues and daily meet employees who are passionate about making a difference for young people. As a unit manager, you have operational responsibility, financial responsibility, and personnel responsibility for the staff on your unit. You lead, plan, implement, follow up, and develop work on the unit toward established goals while maintaining overall treatment responsibility for the young people on your unit. To assist you, you have a group leader and a treatment secretary who, together with you, form a unit team where you collectively shape the work based on your different professions and areas of responsibility. You are part of the institution's management group. Within SFA, we work with girls who have extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric problems, often with a combination of autism, intellectual disability, ADHD, PTSD, self-injurious behavior, and aggressive behavior. Care needs partly correspond to those within LSS, user group 1, which places high demands on knowledge and adapted treatment based on the individual's conditions. Specially reinforced units differ from other treatment units within SiS through smaller youth groups and higher staff density, which enables close, individualized work, often one-to-one. The focus in SFA unit work is a habilitative approach, where the emphasis is on creating safety, structure, and functioning strategies in everyday life, rather than traditional treatment. The goal is to provide young people with the conditions to manage life based on their individual needs and available resources. Qualifications In the role of unit manager, it is important that you are organized and have analytical ability as well as experience working from a holistic perspective. For this unit manager role within SFA, we see it as especially important to have experience with the target group. You need to be comfortable making reprioritizations and be able to quickly shift both pace and direction as needs and priorities can change rapidly in the operation. As a person and leader, we see that you are confident and clear. You are a relationship builder and enjoy working with people, and you have good ability to collaborate both internally with staff, young people, and other colleagues as well as externally with social services and other authorities. We place great importance on personal suitability. Read more at https://www.stat-inst.se/jobba-hos-oss/medarbetarskap-och-ledarskap/. You express yourself well, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish. Class B driver's license Experience working with the target group and NPF diagnoses, or experience in psychiatry or other treatment work. Strong merit is documented experience working as a manager/leader with overall responsibility for operations, finances, and personnel.
