About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the cycle of crime. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and inmate transport. The Stockholm West operational area in the beautiful Ekerö municipality includes the open prison Svartsjö and the semi-open women's prison Färingsö, as well as the Färingsö remand facility. Approximately 170 employees and ten managers administer, lead, and develop operations that receive about 270 inmates. The largest occupational group is correctional officers, but the facilities also employ healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. Inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or woodworking, crafts, packaging, and assembly work. The inmates also operate an organic farm with grain cultivation and animal husbandry. The two facilities are located just a stone's throw from each other and are accessible by bus or car. At both facilities, you park free of charge in our staff parking area. Job Description As a chef, you are responsible for meal preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen. The role also includes supervising inmates, implementing security procedures, and collaborating with the kitchen manager. The role also requires good computer skills since you are responsible for documentation, report writing, work in various digital systems, completion of e-learning courses, and ongoing email management. Main Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals for inmates and staff according to established routines and menus.
