Job Description At the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, you will work with a complex and important social mission where you can make a difference. As a manager, you will help your employees equip our clients in various ways to live a life without crime and drugs, what we call "Better Out." Within the Norrköping operations area, trust-based management and governance are applied, which means freedom with responsibility and great opportunity to shape your own workday within the framework of regulations and what the tasks require. At Norrköping Remand Facility and Prison, we help each other! Placement can therefore occur at one of the facilities: Norrköping Remand Facility, Skenäs Prison, or both. Skenäs Prison is undergoing and facing major changes; the primary focus during 2026 is to transition from an open prison in security class 3 to a closed prison in security class 2. Additionally, it is planned that Skenäs Prison during 2027 will be ready to take over the responsibility for places for children and young people sentenced to imprisonment. As a manager, you will lead, develop, and monitor operations and provide support to your employees in daily work. The role includes personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility for approximately twenty employees, who primarily work as corrections officers. You will report directly to the Corrections Manager and participate in the management team, which is an important platform for your leadership. You are expected, together with your colleagues, to take shared responsibility for your own unit and, if needed, your colleagues' units. There are several managers at each facility, which requires very good cooperation. Qualifications We are looking for someone who finds it easy to collaborate and has the ability to engage others. You are clear in your communication and can adapt your message based on the recipient's circumstances. You are calm and professional even in demanding situations and have the ability to adapt to changed conditions. In your professional role, you have an analytical perspective, good problem-solving skills, and an ability to work with your employees to drive development and change within one of the world's best prison systems. For us, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values regarding a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in people's willingness and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect you and others.
