Great weight shall be placed on experience presenting at conferences and the ability to communicate research to society. In assessing scientific competence, all these factors shall be evaluated based on the productivity that can be expected in relation to the time since obtaining the doctorate. In assessing pedagogical competence, particular weight shall be placed on documented experience teaching and supervising at undergraduate and advanced levels. Great weight shall be given to experience teaching within one or more legal areas in the mandatory part of the law program, or having subject competence that corresponds to the content of the mandatory part of the law program. In assessing administrative competence, great weight shall be placed on experience with program and course responsibility and course planning and administration. Particular weight shall be placed on the ability to teach in both Swedish and English. A general prerequisite for teachers at Umeå University is both good collaboration skills and the competence and suitability otherwise needed to perform the duties well.
