During school terms, I attend school and after-school programs, where I communicate using pictures. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors. My "wheelchair" has a third wheel so I can get around almost anywhere. I can stand on my feet and train in my standing frame regularly (at least 60 min/day). I really enjoy music. Others might get tired of hearing the same songs over and over, but I feel happy and calm from music I recognize. Routines are important to me, and my assistants work systematically throughout the day to create clarity. Since I don't have spoken language, frustration can sometimes occur. It's important that you notice early signs and can redirect me in time. It's important that I know what's going to happen and feel prepared. When people don't understand me, I can get "lightning angry" and maybe throw something on the floor or wave my arms around. Then it's important that you as an assistant stay calm and don't get scared. Just as quickly as I got angry, I become happy again. I always have a trick up my sleeve—I like humor and laughter.
