Alma Assistans is a dedicated company that works closely with clients to provide personalized assistance. We believe that strong relationships are key to effective support services. We operate throughout Sweden with offices in Uppsala, Jönköping, Ulricehamn, Malmö, Helsingborg, and Växjö. I am an 18-year-old guy who needs extra support in my daily life. I'm active and enjoy staying busy. I live in my own apartment in central Olofström, which has good bus connections. During school terms, I attend school and after-school activities, where I communicate using pictures. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors. My "ride" has a third wheel so I can get around most places. I can stand on my feet and exercise regularly in my standing frame (at least 60 min/day). I really love music. Others might get tired of hearing the same songs over and over, but I feel happy and calm when I hear familiar music. Routines are important to me, and my assistants work systematically throughout the day to create clarity. Since I don't have spoken language, frustration can sometimes build up. It's important that you notice early warning signs and can redirect me in time. It's crucial that I know what's going to happen and feel prepared. When people don't understand me, I can get "quick-angry" and maybe throw something on the floor or wave my arms. It's important that you as my assistant stay calm and don't get scared. As quickly as I get angry, I become happy again. I always have a twinkle in my eye—I love humor and laughter. Who are you applying for this job? You should enjoy being active while also being able to take things easy. You need to be stable and attentive. It's a plus if you have experience with autism and challenging behavior. Most importantly, you need to be grounded and have your heart in the right place. This is your chance to make a difference for a young guy as he moves into adulthood. Temporary/summer substitute shifts cover day, evening, night awake, and weekends. Work hours during school days Monday to Friday will be 08:30-19:30, 14:30-21:30, and 21:15-09:10.
