Operations Technician for Sewer Network

Job Description Do you enjoy variety in your work, collaborating, and being involved in both planned and event-driven problem-solving? Then Sewer Network (Ledningsnät) is for you. We own and operate our own facilities, and no one does it better than we do ourselves. Today we have approximately 160 employees distributed across eight units. The responsibility for wastewater operations is shared by two units that work in close collaboration with each other. Together they are responsible for the operational management and maintenance of the wastewater pipe network and associated facilities within Gothenburg city. The sewer network wastewater pump unit's primary area of responsibility and main tasks are preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps/pump stations and wastewater facilities to ensure safe system operation. We are currently a team of 15 colleagues with different experiences and competencies who together tackle the varied work tasks that the operation entails. Here you get free and varied work with great personal responsibility. You work practically with operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, and you get to plan and prioritize your work based on operational needs. One day you work with a pump station somewhere in Gothenburg, another day in the workshop, and sometimes your work takes you by boat to our facilities in the southern archipelago. If you have a technical interest, experience with, for example, pumps, service, or maintenance, and enjoy solving problems, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills with experienced colleagues. Job Responsibilities Do you enjoy problem-solving and work where days can look very different? Then the role of operations technician with us might be for you. As an operations technician, you work both independently and together with colleagues on preventive and corrective maintenance of our wastewater pump stations and associated systems. The work includes, among other things, troubleshooting, service, and to some extent repair of wastewater pumps, pump stations, and low-pressure wastewater systems, as well as work related to pressurized parts of the wastewater pipe network. A large part of the work is planned maintenance, but the operation is event-driven and new assignments and operational disruptions can arise during the day. This means you need to be able to reprioritize, troubleshoot, and find practical solutions when the situation demands it. The work takes place at many different locations within Gothenburg (including the southern archipelago) and may involve work with, among other things, specialized vehicles and our work boat. You also get the opportunity to contribute your own ideas and be involved in improvements to our facilities and working methods. To be successful in the role, you need to be creative and collaboration-oriented. Working in a group as well as independently is natural for you. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: High school education with focus on mechanics, pipe network operations, or plumbing and heating. Equivalent competence can be experience from repairing/performing systematic service/maintenance of water and wastewater systems or equivalent education or experience with work tasks that the employer deems equivalent.
