In disability services, you work with everything from home care to supporting people in their workplaces, leisure activities, or creative environments like theater and music. Everyday support is the foundation – but needs vary. Regardless of the assignment, the goal is always the same: to strengthen people's independence and quality of life.
What is a disability?
A disability is a reduced physical, mental, or intellectual capacity. It can be congenital or develop later in life and can be visible or invisible. Each person is unique – with their own abilities, needs, and strengths – and that's what makes the work both meaningful and rewarding.
Our Operations
We recruit for several disability services operations:
- Residential services with special support (BmSS) – 24/7 operations.
- Day activities – habilitative and work-oriented activities during the day.
- Residential support – support in users' home environments, primarily daytime but also evenings and weekends.
- Short-term residential care for adults – time-limited support and care for adult users.
Placement will be based on the operations' needs and your previous experience.
Work Tasks
The work varies depending on the operation but may include:
- Educational support in daily life
- Personal care
- Cooking, laundry, and other everyday tasks
- Activities and social support
- Documentation and medication management according to delegation
Challenging and self-injurious behaviors may occur at some of our operations.
Temporary Assignment:
As a temporary worker, you work as needed and set your own availability. Working hours vary between day, evening, weekend, and night shifts depending on the operation.
Qualifications
You must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with regulations on minors' working environment AFS 2023:2 6 kap, 5,6 and 8§ regarding solo work.
Communication is an important part of the work, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test provider Educateit.
If you are trained as a support assistant, nursing assistant, or have another education that the employer considers equivalent, or if you have ongoing education in care and health, pedagogical, or social work, that is an advantage. It is also an advantage if you have experience working in care and health, pedagogical, or social work.
We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You think of those we serve and their wellbeing. You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on the results.
You are friendly and helpful to other people even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are welcoming and positive. You work to ensure that the student/customer/user gets what they need.
You remain calm and confident in pressured and difficult situations. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure.
