Description Åkeredsskolan is now seeking a school nurse! We offer a permanent position at 80% for someone who wants to contribute to students' health and well-being. Job Responsibilities As a school nurse within the Elementary School Administration, you are part of the Student Health Medical Services, EMI. The City of Gothenburg has an established base program for EMI that includes health visits, health consultations, and vaccinations. The school nurse is responsible for organizing and planning their own and the school doctor's clinic work during the school year. The work also includes matters related to students' work environment, the school's values, and lifestyle-related health issues, and you become a link in the school's student health team. You work primarily on health promotion and prevention and contribute with your nursing expertise to create the best possible conditions for student health, development, and learning. In your role as a school nurse, you have the opportunity to make a difference and work closely with other student health personnel, the school's leadership, and of course all teaching staff at the schools. You also collaborate with guardians and agencies outside the school. The principal is your direct manager. As a school nurse, you are part of a professional network for other school nurses in the education area, led by the medical manager, MLA. You will be offered introductory training and access to a mentor during the introductory period. School nurses receive profession-specific professional development and have the opportunity for regular supervision outside the school. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education in healthcare for children and adolescents, district nurse education, or with further education focused on school nursing. All documentation for school nurses and school doctors, as well as student health, is done in our digital medical record system, PMO. It is advantageous if you have experience working as a school nurse and if you have worked with children and adolescents. To succeed in your role, it is important that you are flexible, communicative, and have the ability to build good, trusting relationships with students, parents, and teachers. You are confident in your professional role, responsible, and have an easy time collaborating.
