You are expected to be comfortable independently planning and prioritizing your work. You have a good ability to assess patients' needs and decide on treatment measures accordingly. We value a work climate built on commitment, a positive attitude, curiosity, and interest. We view experience with contact tracing work favorably, and experience working with issues related to sexual health is also desirable but not required. We continuously work with quality and development issues. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. We warmly welcome your application! For children and young people to manage their self-care, they need extensive education and support from us and their families. We work in a team consisting of a diabetes nurse, pediatric nurse, physician, dietitian, social worker, psychologist, play therapist, and secretary. Our diabetes team maintains contact with preschools, schools, and other institutions around the family. We educate school staff, other healthcare personnel, and students. What Can We Offer You? You'll work at a Center of Excellence! What is that? Well, it happens that we top the statistics for clinics with the most successful diabetes care in the world. We are incredibly proud of this and we want to fight to maintain our position. This means that research is a natural part of our daily work. It means we work with and are trained in the very latest technology in diabetes devices. In turn, this requires that you have a technical interest and can follow curves and variables to optimize treatment. It's good if you have an aptitude for learning new technology, but above all you need to embrace the challenge of teaching others how the technology can/should be used, which is sometimes a BIG challenge. The opportunity to work with children and their families at a clinic with great variety that offers excellent opportunities for personal development. A rewarding job with good support from experienced colleagues. Competence development and training based on your needs and the organization's needs. A safe and secure introduction with experienced nurses adapted to your needs and experience. The position includes weekend shifts every fifth weekend or according to an agreed arrangement in one of the organization's around-the-clock units. Job Responsibilities As one of six patient-responsible nurses at the diabetes clinic, you guide the child and family from the life-changing initial diagnosis through follow-up visits and continue to be an important part of the puzzle until the child turns 18 years old. In your role, you will educate and guide families so they can perform and feel confident with treatment, feel informed about the disease, and be knowledgeable about the technical and digital aids available. You will conduct both scheduled and acute nursing visits that vary between in-person and digital visits. Your work includes telephone counseling, work at the physician's clinic, prescribing aids, and training of preschool and school staff. About You We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with work experience in pediatric care and/or diabetes care. Specialist training in health and medical care for children and young people or in diabetes nursing is a merit. Experience with clinic work is also desirable. As a person, you are interested in working with children and families. You are skilled at building relationships and at inspiring trust and confidence. You enjoy meeting people with different backgrounds and circumstances. You have plenty of patience and are good at teaching others.
