About Us Unit 363 Substance Dependence Young Adults receives patients aged 18-29 with harmful use or dependence, with or without comorbidity, from throughout the Västra Götaland Region. We provide highly specialized dependence care and have regional care beds for both planned and acute admissions. We care for patients according to HSL and LPT as well as persons in care under LVU and LVM. The unit also has a care bed for direct admission from the Dependence Care Operations area's outpatient units. Currently, the activities have been temporarily expanded to 14 care beds, with the possibility of caring for patients within psychiatric Affective disorders. Length of stay is individually adapted and typically amounts to approximately seven to ten days. Patients are offered medication treatment, psychoeducational groups such as relapse prevention, physical activity, counseling support, social planning, and preparation for discharge. As an important part of the care chain, we work closely with social services, BUP, and Mini-Maria to ensure safe and integrated care. We offer individually adapted introduction and mentoring. You will have the opportunity for continuous professional development through internal training as well as training in areas such as substance dependence studies, motivational interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention (ÅP). All employees regularly participate in training and practice in self-defense. About the Position As a registered nurse you work close to patients in a varied assignment with good development opportunities. You plan, lead, delegate, and perform care together with the care team and are responsible for medical checks, blood draws, and medication management. Work Tasks You work in a team together with registered nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, counselors, and section leaders. As a registered nurse you are responsible for nursing care and lead the daily unit work. Work follows a five-week schedule with shifts covering two weekends out of five. Shifts have a clear structure with briefing, work assignment, rounds, and daily check-ins with physicians. The role involves close patient contact and time for conversations. Examples of work tasks: Medication management and monitoring and assessment of treatment Blood draws Participate in and lead team meetings and rounds Receive and assess referrals in the referral team Conversations with patients and next of kin Participate in planning for discharge Collaboration with authorities, care partners, and networks Contribute to or drive development work in the unit About You You have good communication skills, interest in people, and a patient-focused approach to work. You are attentive, communicative, and work well with both colleagues, patients, and family members. We seek someone who is confident, stable, and flexible. You can prioritize, take own initiative, and plan and organize your work independently. You actively contribute to a good work environment. You are a licensed registered nurse. Experience working in psychiatry and specialist training in psychiatry are merits. We welcome your application! Meet Some of Our Employees - Sahlgrenska University Hospital Clinical Base Year If you are a newly graduated registered nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Base Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts throughout your first year of employment. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training in your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, there is a placement at another unit to broaden your competence.
