About Us Forensic Psychiatry is a unique operation within Sahlgrenska University Hospital, located in Gunnilse approximately 20 minutes by public transport from central Gothenburg. The mission of Forensic Psychiatry is to provide individually tailored psychiatric care and rehabilitation to patients sentenced to mandatory care. The operation has outpatient and inpatient facilities with enhanced security classification and also cares for patients deprived of liberty under other legislation when they need acute psychiatric specialist care. Forensic Psychiatry has a responsibility for public safety, where the goal is for rehabilitation to occur safely for the patient, employees, and society. Forensic Psychiatry thus has a dual mission: both public safety and care. The operation has six inpatient units and in addition to this there is an activity center, an outpatient clinic with two mobile teams, and additional units with important functions for the operation. Our units work in close collaboration with the research center CELAM (Center for Ethics, Jurisprudence, and Mental Health). What Do We Offer You? Forensic Psychiatry provides and develops specialist care with a focus on multiprofessional care and rehabilitation. Job Description As a treatment assistant, you will work with patient care and rehabilitation. You will be part of a team with several professional categories where you, as a treatment assistant, have an important role. Together with your colleagues, you work with a long-term care plan, where you have a motivating, supportive, and active role in the patient's legal, medical, and rehabilitative process. We work in various digital systems for documentation and collaboration such as Melior, Elvis, and SAMSA. Your tasks include, together with your colleagues, maintaining a good working environment on the care unit. Your approach and efforts are crucial for the operation to be characterized by calm, comfort, care, and security. As a treatment assistant, you have a coordinating role within the care team around the patient. You are also expected to be able to participate in physical self-defense training on an ongoing basis together with your colleagues. About You We are looking for someone who is educated as a treatment assistant (upper secondary vocational level or 3-year program). Experience in forensic psychiatric and psychiatric care is a merit. It is also an advantage if you have experience in relapse prevention and/or MI (motivational interviewing). You are a calm and secure person who has a genuine interest in helping people with psychiatric illness. You have the ability to listen, set boundaries, and motivate. You have structure in your work and are responsible. We have close collaboration across unit boundaries, which means flexibility and teamwork are qualities we value in an employee with us.
