As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we serve two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us, you will experience both challenging trials and fantastic moments, in a strong community with colleagues. Welcome with your application! Our Operations The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry emergency operations and NHV for severe eating disorders are located in the psychiatry building at Academic Hospital. Here you will be welcomed to varied and rewarding teamwork! BUP Emergency Reception The emergency reception receives patients up to 18 years old with various psychiatric diagnoses. The reception is open around the clock. Teamwork is important as the nurse works together with doctors and care assistants to assess the patient. You will meet young people and their families in difficult life situations. The reception has good procedures for how we handle and assess cases. Providing the best possible care is an important part of our work here. BUP Emergency Ward The ward is a 24-hour care facility. It primarily cares for patients who come to the emergency reception and need more extensive and longer interventions than what can be offered in outpatient care. The ward has no specific diagnostic focus, but admission reasons are many, with the most common being suicide prevention, depression, and eating disorders. We also see patients with symptoms of psychosis and bipolar disorder. NHV Severe Eating Disorders In our national highly specialized care (NHV) team, we offer assessment, treatment, and follow-up according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's special conditions for NHV directed at children and young people with severe eating disorders. Care is based on individualized and intensive interventions for the entire family in a multidisciplinary team. Treatment is typically provided within a 12-week framework. Your Assignment You will work in teams at the emergency reception, ward, and in NHV for severe eating disorders. We work to ensure the best possible outcomes of our care interventions. This includes building alliances with patients and guardians. You will assess various symptoms of mental health issues and participate in planning and implementing various measures. You will represent the nursing care perspective for the patients you are responsible for. In collaboration with colleagues from different professions and occupational groups, you will assess and plan the patient's need for nursing care and medical treatment. You work closely with the patient and cooperate with outpatient care and other community services. You are responsible for different stages of the nursing process, administer medications, and lead and distribute work. Mentoring students is also part of your duties. You will also contribute to developing somatic and psychiatric nursing care on the ward together with your nursing colleagues. Your Qualifications You are a licensed nurse. It is advantageous if you have specialist training in psychiatric care or care of children and young people. We would appreciate it if you have experience in psychiatric nursing, work with children and young people, eating disorder treatment, and/or 24-hour care. Your Competence You are confident in your professional role, which is reflected in your approach to families in crisis. You keep the patient in focus and are responsible and motivated in your work. Beyond your professional knowledge, you are an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment. Being creative, solution-focused, and building conditions for good collaboration with open dialogue within the unit will be important ingredients in our work – along with a measure of perseverance. Secure Start as a New Nurse in Acute Pediatric Care

Akademiska Children's Hospital Small hearts need great care! We are a small hospital in a large system, and it is in the small things that our greatness lies. Here we have all the expertise a sick child may need, good collaboration, respect and care. We offer a really good introduction for those who are new and many interesting opportunities for development. There is also unexpected joy in what is sometimes very difficult. We take care of the children and their families, and we take care of each other – because we know that we do a much better job together! A Secure Start with us We know that a good introduction makes a big difference. That's why we want to give you a secure start and good opportunities to develop within acute pediatric care. Through our introduction program Secure Start, you will receive a structured introduction with education, training and support in your daily work. The program focuses on the acutely ill child and includes a review of operational guidelines and procedures, S+A CPR for Children, scenario training and reflection. The introduction is also tailored to your previous experience and needs. The introduction program will be offered twice a year, in January and August/September. The first program start will be in January 2027. Our Operations The Acute Pediatric Care section consists of acute care ward 95 E, the acute clinic for children and young people, and specialized pediatrics 95 E. On the acute care ward, we care for, treat and evaluate children and adolescents 0–18 years old who need a few days of hospital care. Common patient groups are children with infections, kidney or heart problems. At the acute clinic for children and young people, we receive children and adolescents with acute medical, orthopedic and surgical diseases and injuries. The operation is open 24/7 and the pace varies from day to day. Within specialized pediatrics 95 E, highly specialized investigations and treatments are carried out within our day care flow. We are a committed and multidisciplinary team with the sick child and family at the center. Our work is characterized by collaboration, knowledge exchange and an open climate where we support each other. Patient safety, professional conduct and continuous development are natural parts of everyday life. We place great emphasis on education, reflection and feedback, and work actively to ensure that all employees feel secure and develop in their role. Your Assignment As a nurse, you will work either on acute care ward 95 E or at the acute clinic for children and young people. There is also the possibility to rotate between the operations which are located in adjacent facilities. On 95 E you work in a team together with nurses, nursing assistants and physicians. The work is varied and includes typical nursing tasks within acute pediatric care. At the children's acute clinic you work both independently and in a team. Work tasks include care of children and relatives as well as medical interventions and acute management. Patients arrive both walking and by ambulance, and some require immediate intervention in acute rooms. Your Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, pediatric nurse or nurse with other specialist education relevant to the operation. Experience with pediatric care and/or work at an acute clinic is an asset. We welcome both you who are new to the profession and you who have more experience and want to continue developing within acute pediatric care. Your Competence As a person, you have a great interest in pediatric care and find acute care exciting. You are flexible and adapt easily to new situations. You thrive in an operation where no two days are the same and are curious to learn new things, develop and take on various work tasks. We Offer Permanent full-time employment with start date by agreement and introduction through our new introduction program. After completing the introduction as a newly qualified nurse, you will begin KUÅ (clinical development year). If you have at least two years of experience, there is an opportunity to apply for paid specialist education in pediatric and youth nursing. You work either on 95 E, at the children's acute clinic or in a rotation position between the operations. We work according to Akademiska's point system with shifts during day, evening and night.
