We recommend that you read the texts on our website to get a broader picture of the school. Qualifications/Requirements · High school teacher diploma/Subject teacher degree with a focus on teaching in high school. · Teaching certification in the subjects: English and French. Merits · Other education, certifications, college courses, technical college, etc. At Gymnasieskolan Gripen, we stand up for teachers' freedom to carry out their national mission. We believe that autonomy and responsibility create meaning and foster professional pride. Here, teachers are not a subordinate profession but have professional freedom to be the teachers they want to be. Teaching is the teacher's most important task, and everything else is secondary. Therefore, it is important to us that the teaching role is clear and well-defined. With us, you get a clear job description and a priority list that helps maintain an even workload. Scheduled lessons, student time, meetings, staff conferences, special days, professional development days, outdoor days and the like count as regulated working time. You are expected to be present 30 minutes before your first lesson each day, stay 10 minutes after your last lesson ends, and arrive at each lesson five minutes before it begins. All other time is trust time that you manage yourself, when and where it is performed. All teachers also have a fixed ergonomic workspace at school for personal work. Gymnasиeskolan Gripen uses learning platforms without matrix requirements, where minimal documentation is needed. We actively work to ensure that learning platforms are a support and an asset – not a limitation or control of teaching. All students have their own laptops, but it is each teacher's responsibility to decide whether, when and how computers should be used in teaching. At Gripen, reading and the written word are at the center of all teaching. Other Duties Meetings In addition to your scheduled lessons, you are expected to participate in brief teacher meetings and longer gatherings on such occasions as professional development days. All meetings have clear purposes and goals that are communicated in advance and are held within established timeframes. Collaborative Learning and Cooperation At Gripen, we do not work with traditional work teams and have chosen to limit regular collaborative learning to a few occasions per year. We do not place you in joint projects or interdisciplinary work. However, we value a good working environment that encourages voluntary collaboration and social interaction among colleagues. Special Days and Events You are expected to participate in school-wide activities such as study days, school assemblies, professional development, outdoor days and study visits, when regular teaching temporarily ceases. About the School and Leadership We place great importance on creating good conditions for our teachers to do good work. You get time to prepare, refine and develop your teaching in peace and quiet. We do not initiate development work for its own sake, but believe in a slow and steady school. Gripen is a teacher-owned school, which means that the principal is present in daily operations. The school has had the same rector and assistant rector for over 15 years, which creates stability, continuity and long-term vision in leadership and school development. We warmly welcome your application! (We decline all offers of advertising and recruitment assistance in connection with this notice).
