About the Operation We are a surgical inpatient ward that cares for patients before and after surgery. We have high patient turnover and offer stimulating and varied work where the pace can be both fast and slow, where no two days are alike. We provide surgical care following colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, urology, vascular surgery, and otolaryngology. A large part of our operations consists of planned surgery, but we also conduct around-the-clock admissions from the emergency department and other clinics to our urological, vascular, and otolaryngology sections. Surgical Ward 15 has 24 patient beds staffed by dedicated registered nurses, nursing assistants, physicians, and other important health professionals who work together as a team around patients. We also have nurses with specialist functions. We have also started a collaboration with Professor Anna Forsberg, sometimes called the queen of nursing care. Together with her, we develop structures to create safe care relationships with continuity, systematic daily assessment and analysis of the patient's health and situation using head-to-toe examination (all patients should be examined by a nurse with a caring touch each shift), and to strengthen nurses in their leadership role. On the unit, you will work with a digital patient overview via a personal tablet that you carry with you during your shift. The tablet provides you with an excellent overview of your patients, their information and condition, medication lists, and the work tasks you and your colleagues need to complete. About the Department The Department of Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation (GNR) is part of the Southern Primary Care Area. GNR has two inpatient wards: one focused on rehabilitation (26A) and one for stroke/neurology (26B). Ward 26B treats patients with neurological diseases, including stroke. The clinic has 5 neurologists, 4 stroke-specialized physicians, and 7 resident physicians in neurology. The neurology outpatient clinic is comprehensive and well-established with extensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities. We also have a neurology consultation function linked to the clinic. We are now seeking a chief physician/specialist physician in neurology to join our outpatient clinic team. You will see a wide variety of patients in outpatient neurology and also work as a consultant to other clinics and departments in the hospital. You will collaborate closely with our outpatient nurses, who have specialized expertise in neurology.
