About the Department The Department of Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation (GNR) is part of the Southern Primary Care Area. GNR has two inpatient wards: one focused on rehabilitation (26A) and one for stroke/neurology (26B). Ward 26B treats patients with neurological diseases, including stroke. The clinic has 5 neurologists, 4 stroke-specialized physicians, and 7 resident physicians in neurology. The neurology outpatient clinic is comprehensive and well-established with extensive diagnostic and treatment capabilities. We also have a neurology consultation function linked to the clinic. We are now seeking a chief physician/specialist physician in neurology to join our outpatient clinic team. You will see a wide variety of patients in outpatient neurology and also work as a consultant to other clinics and departments in the hospital. You will collaborate closely with our outpatient nurses, who have specialized expertise in neurology. We are committed to your success and offer an introduction period where you can learn our systems and routines. This is a permanent position with a work capacity between 50% and 100%. Both employment level and start date are subject to agreement. Duties Work primarily at the neurology outpatient clinic with outpatient neurology Share on-call consulting duties with other neurologists Ward work may occur on ward 26B Participate in supervising resident physicians and medical students Qualifications We are looking for someone who For Chief Physician and Specialist Physician: Is a board-certified specialist physician in neurology Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written For Chief Physician: Can work independently as on-call backup in neurology, or has comprehensive competence within your subspecialty with the ability to take overall responsibility Has at least 3 years of full-time clinical service after obtaining specialist certification It is advantageous if you For Chief Physician and Specialist Physician: Have work experience from ward work, outpatient clinic, and on-call competence in neurology Have experience working with the Cosmic medical records system For Chief Physician: Have a defined medical responsibility and/or area of expertise Have teaching and/or mentoring experience Have leadership and administrative experience/training Have a doctoral degree, preferably with active research in a relevant field Have other meriting research credentials To succeed in this role, we believe you have these personal qualities Integrity Decisiveness Collaboration skills Loyalty Region Västernorrland With approximately 7,000 employees and over 200 professions, Region Västernorrland is responsible for several of the services most important for residents' ability to participate in society.
