About the Operation We are a surgical inpatient ward that cares for patients before and after surgery. We have a high patient turnover and you will receive stimulating and varied work where the pace can be both fast and slow, where no two days are alike. We provide surgical care following colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, urology, vascular surgery, and ear-nose-throat procedures. A large portion of our operations are scheduled surgeries, but we also conduct 24-hour intake from the emergency department and other clinics to our urological, vascular, and ear-nose-throat sections. The ward has 24 care beds. As a nursing assistant with us, you have an important role in ensuring patients' basic care needs are met. As a member of the surgical team, you have great opportunities to develop your expertise. We are now seeking a nursing assistant for Surgical Ward 15 for a 12-month full-time temporary position. Working hours are scheduled during day/evening shifts with night shifts possible by arrangement with the unit manager. Weekend work: 2 out of 5 weekends. Start date by agreement. Job Duties Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and your most important asset is your nursing care competence, along with your commitment to our patients and working forward in a positive spirit. You will work as part of a team with nurses and physicians to create the best conditions for patient recovery. Your work will include: Preoperative preparations Postoperative checks Wound, stoma, and catheter care.
